Natural Gemstones are GREEN MYSTIC QUARTZ Micro-cut and faceted big rondelles. AA –Top Quality. Very pale, very delicate color. I made a pair for myself after seeing how lovely these stones were. They’re so simple but elegant.

The color is hard to describe as it changes depending on the light and what’s near it. They can look minty, or pale aqua or sometimes look smokey grey or icy silver. I find I wear them all the time and that because the color is so icy and delicate, they go with everything!

Rainbow Gemstone Threader Sterling Silver Earrings

Six genuine gemstones (ruby, yellow sapphire, emerald, blue topaz, amethyst and white topaz) form a rainbow of color on sterling silver ear threads.

I started with a sterling silver, ball tipped headpin and then strung six genuine gemstones on. All gemstones are high quality, micro faceted rondelles. The ear threads are .925 sterling silver as well and thus hypoallergenic for those sensitive to some metals.

The gemstones used in the piece starting from the bottom are:

* Ruby – one of four precious gemstones and the birthstone of July

* Yellow Sapphire – Another of the four precious gemstones, sapphire comes in many colors including this lovely yellow. Traditionally blue sapphire is the birthstone of September.

* Emerald – the third precious gemstone in this piece, emerald is the birthstone of May and an amazing green stone without peer.

* Blue Topaz – A semi-precious stone, blue topaz has a crystal clear blue sky color. It’s an alternative birthstone for December.

* Amethyst – Long associated with royalty, amethyst is a gorgeous and rich purple tone. This semi-precious stone is the birthstone of February.

* White Topaz – White topaz is a flawlessly clear crystal stone. It’s used as an alternative to diamond for April’s birthstone. Also semi-precious.

Threader style earrings allow you to adjust how long or short you wish to wear them. The gemstones measure about .25″ in length and the total length of the threader plus gems is right around 3.25″

They’re dainty and feminine. They would be a lovely gift for someone who likes rainbow colors, or who is interested in chakra healing and colors.

They would also be a very special gift for a young woman who may not want or need a large pair of earrings but for whom a pair of sterling silver gemstone earrings would be a special gift. It could be a pair of “grown up” jewelry all her own.

I only have the one pair of these at this time as I put them together with the extra gems leftover after other projects. To individually purchase this many stones to make a pair would be quite expensive so this is a great way to get some high quality gems in a lovely little, affordable package.

Ruby and Rainbow Moonstone Gemstone Heart Earrings in Sterling Silver

Precious gemstone Ruby (birthstone of July) is paired with mystical Rainbow Moonstone in these chandelier style sterling silver earrings in a heart shape.

For these sweet earrings, I started with a .925 sterling silver heart finding. From that, I have five dangles of gemstones. Each dangle is on a sterling silver ball-tipped headpin and features genuine, natural precious ruby gemstone and natural semi-precious moonstone rondelles. They are finished with sterling silver hooks and measure a little over 1.25″ from the top to the bottom of the longest drop.

These are lovely earrings. The sweetheart shape makes them equally wearable everyday or for a special occasion. A gift for a July baby, someone you love or just as a special treat for yourself!

About the Gemstones Used
* Ruby is one of the rare, precious gemstones (along with Emerald, Diamond and Sapphire.) Ruby is known as the most powerful gem in the universe. To own a ruby is to know contentment and peace. Given as a gift, ruby is the stone of friendship and love. It’s also associated with vitality and royalty. It is the birthstone of July. The rubies used in this piece are 100% natural gemstone, grade A+ Micro faceted rondelles.

* Rainbow moonstone is an amazing stone that’s almost impossible to photograph. The stone is “alive” with natural iridescent fire and a color shift towards blue in various types of light. Moonstone is of course associated with the Moon and with the Goddess Diana. It’s a powerful stone said to protect those of a sensitive nature and bring good emotions to the wearer. Because of it’s tie to emotions and the moon, it’s said to be a woman’s gemstone. It is also an alternative birthstone for June. (Traditionally pearl.)

Chrome Diopside and Quartz Dangle Earrings in Sterling Silver

Though I’m still out on unpaid medical leave and will be for some time now (see all the details here), it seems like there are just never enough hours in the day! Not enough time to make, photograph, edit and list items let alone promote them. But here’s one I managed to get listed tonight. I have a few more things which are going to be listed soon but for now, this is the first of them.

Stunning gemstone earrings set all in sterling silver featuring 10mm AA-Grade Crystal Quartz Onion Briolette surrounded by amazing Chrome Diopside Rondelles with White Topaz Accents.

I started these stunning earrings with flawless, AA-grade Crystal Quartz in a 10mm onion shaped briolette. It’s faceted and clear as ice. Then I strung one of my all-time favorite gemstones, Chrome Diopside, on ball-tipped sterling silver headpins and made a cluster on top of the quartz. Above that are two white topaz faceted rondelles to finish out the earrings. They are finished with .925 sterling silver leverbacks.

Chrome Diopside isn’t as well known as other gemstones and though it has an ugly name, it’s one of the most stunning gems you’ll ever find. The color is so rich, so deep and so intense it just doesn’t seem real. But this is an all natural, untreated gemstone and the amazing vibrancy of the green paired with the cool icy perfection of the quartz makes for a really stunning look.

They measure just about 1.45″ in total length from top of leverback to bottom of the quartz. All findings in these are .925 sterling silver. The headpins also have little round balls on the tips giving them more interest and style.

Chrome Diopside is also called “Siberian Emerald” because of it’s rich, amazing green. Many people say Chrome Diopside is what Emerald wishes it could be when it grows up! The name Diopside is derived from the Greek word ‘di’ meaning two, and ‘opsis’, meaning vision. Diopside is believed to be a creative stone, increasing creative visualization and helping to manifest desired goals. Found only in remote Siberia, it can only be mined three months of the year making it a rare and valuable gemstone.

Stunning Precious Gemstone Dangle Earrings

These gorgeous earrings feature a cluster of genuine precious gemstones. Ruby, Emerald and Yellow Sapphire are nestled around Amethyst briolette teardrops. All set in sterling silver.

I started with a beautiful semi-precious amethyst briolette in a faceted teardrop shape. I used a sterling silver, ball-tipped headpin to form the base of the earrings. Then I added a cluster of genuine, precious gems also on ball tipped sterling silver headpins fill in above the amethyst.

There are four precious gems in the world and this piece has three of them: Ruby (the birthstone of July), Emerald (the birthstone of May) and Yellow Sapphire (the birthstone of September.) All three precious gems are in the form of lovely micro-faceted rondelle gemstones.

These earrings are just really pretty and the quality of the stones is very nice. All findings are sterling silver. These earrings will match just about anything in your wardrobe with the deep, rich range of colors. They’re dainty but still noticeable and can be worn with anything.

They measure approximately 1.25″ from hook to tip.

This is a one-of-a-kind pair. I bought one set of matching plum amethyst briolette and do not have any more on hand. I absolutely love these earrings and hope you do too!

Medical Issues and A Call For Help

Well, it’s been over a week since my last entry here and what a hectic, frightening and difficult week it’s been. Sunday, May 29th, I was in the ER after two days of unbearable abdominal pain. I was admitted that night. Many tests later, it turns out my uterus is just full of tumors. More specifically, fibroid tumors and cysts. My uterus is the size of a woman 4 months pregnant. But of course, I’m not pregnant. There are multiple tumors which are softball sized and several which are baseball sized and cysts so large they can’t visualize my ovary for the mass in the way. All told, I have about a basketball size worth of masses in my uterus.

I’ve spent the week back-and-forth at the doctor having tests and preparing for an emergency hysterectomy. (I’m 34.) However, this week, the doctor determined that the tumors were larger then originally believed when I was in the hospital and now I’m too high risk of surgery. Anything over 250grams is considered high risk. He estimates I have at least 1,200grams of tumors. As a result, I now have to undergo a temporary, induced, medical menopause for two months. The tumors are fed by estrogen, so by artificially putting me in menopause, we slash the estrogen production in my body and hopefully, starve the tumors. I will still need a hysterectomy but we need to do this step first just so the surgery won’t be life-threatening.

I have, in addition to my shop of course, a part-time day job. The day job, however, does NOT give me any benefits and I do NOT have insurance. I’ve paid $415 out of pocket so far in the tests just to the doctor’s office and the fee just to pay my doctor will be $2,000. (Not including the hospital stay or the anesthesiologist.) In addition, I’m already out about seven days of work unpaid and when I have the surgery, I will be out a month unpaid.

I really need to spread the word as much as possible to help raise the money for the surgery (I need a minimum of $800 down just to schedule it) and to off-set the loss of wages through this period. I’ve already tried and been turned down for every medical assistance program you can think of because Florida really has crap for help. I work and I pay taxes but I fall in the cracks of the very narrow eligibility window this state offers. You can keep up with my treatments, fears and progress on my person blog under the hysterectomy tag as well.

ANYONE who can help me raise funds, I can’t tell you enough how much your help means. Also, anyone who helps me keep my sales up on my shop which will help offset my lost income would also be a huge aid. If you can just pass along my link even – in blogs, in twitter, on facebook – just getting the word out and bringing attention to the shop helps so much.

I’m doing everything I can to get through this impossibly scary period right now but I can’t do it alone. Your support is so appreciated right now.

Phoenix Fire Cluster Dangle Earrings

I’ve been wanting to make a pair of phoenix/fire color earrings for awhile. And the nice thing about making jewelry is that I also get to make custom pieces just for myself sometimes too. This was my first time making something just like this but I think it came out really lovely and I hope to be able to offer some in this style (but maybe in different color schemes as well) in my shop soon.

For now, look how pretty! Lemon quartz teardrop briolettes and micro-faceted rondelles in garnet and shaded citrine. All set in sterling.

So lovely. And I’m just so pleased with the colors and how they look worn as well. Like I said, this pair I made for myself to learn the technique and figure out the logistics but hopefully soon I can offer some my shop as well.
