{"id":580,"date":"2013-10-16T14:18:57","date_gmt":"2013-10-16T18:18:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.phoenixfiredesigns.com\/blog\/?p=580"},"modified":"2013-10-16T14:20:52","modified_gmt":"2013-10-16T18:20:52","slug":"yarn-and-felt-flower-halloween-wreath","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phoenixfiredesigns.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/yarn-and-felt-flower-halloween-wreath\/","title":{"rendered":"Yarn and Felt Flower Halloween Wreath"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I thought I&#8217;d show off the yarn and felt flower Halloween Wreath I made as part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.craftster.org\/forum\/index.php?topic=427196.0\" target=\"_blank\">Mini 13 Days of Halloween<\/a> swap for my partner, michelleandbean.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.phoenixfiredesigns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/halloween-wreath1a.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.phoenixfiredesigns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/halloween-wreath1a.jpg\" alt=\"halloween-wreath1a\" width=\"600\" height=\"770\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I started with a foam wreath from the floral department of Joann&#8217;s. Then I bought some black\/orange colored chunky yarn and spent the next hour wrapping it. LOL After that, I went online and googled how to make some felt flowers. (I used <a href=\"http:\/\/debbie-debbiedoos.com\/2013\/03\/learn-how-to-make-felt-flowers.html\" target=\"_blank\">this technique<\/a> in making them. Simple in steps, but time consuming and man my fingers got tired cutting all those strips out of the felt! :D) Made up a bunch in suitable Halloween colors (orange, black, yellow for harvest, purple and white) and glued them on in a cluster on the wreath.<\/p>\n<p>Next, I added some metal bead caps and swarovski crystals to some of the flowers to give them a little extra sparkle. To finish it off, I hot glued some small little pumpkins in with the flowers and added a sparkly ribbon to hang it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.phoenixfiredesigns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/halloween-wreath1b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.phoenixfiredesigns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/halloween-wreath1b.jpg\" alt=\"halloween-wreath1b\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This was a lot of fun because it&#8217;s not something I&#8217;ve ever done before.
