Large Sterling Silver and Garnet Gemstone Tree of
Life Pendant
~*~ About the Tree
of Life ~*~
The Tree of Life is a concept that's been featured in myth, story
and legend literally all around the world. Since ancient times,
people have used variations on the theme. Connecting all things -
the realms of the spirit, the physical, the Divine and the mundane -
the roots of the Tree and the branches touch all things and bring
them together in harmony.
~*~ About this Unique Piece ~*~
This pendant is handmade using painstaking wire-wrapping techniques.
Sterling silver-plated wire is used as the roots, trunk and
branches. It has been specially treated to be non-tarnish to keep
it's luster.
This piece was inspired by the large Spring Tree in peridot (which
can be seen in my "sold" items) as it is the same general size/style
of that piece. Like that one, however, this too is a bit of a happy
accident and because of the complexity and intricacies of the
twisting branches, no other piece would come out quite like this. It
truly makes this one a One-Of-A-Kind item. It's extremely beautiful
and while I like all my pieces, this is another one I really love
how it came out.
~*~ About Garnet Gemstone ~*~
Genuine plum garnet gemstone nuggets are used as the "leaves" of the
piece. Garnet is a natural, semi-precious gemstone associated with
the planet Mars, the zodiac sign of Aquarius and the birthstone of
the month of January. Considered the stone of good luck in business,
it's also said to increase your self-esteem when worn as jewelry.
It's also the stone associated with the first chakra (base of the
spine.)
Garnet is a very deep, very rich colored stone and thus difficult to
photograph. It has a deep vibrancy to it that doesn't always show up
in pictures, so please see the close-up shot for a better look at
the intensity of garnet's color.
~*~ Measurements ~*~
Measuring about 1.75" height and width (not including the .25"
approximate bail size) it is a bold piece that will be noticed, but
not so large as to make it unwearable. The "loop" bail will easily
accommodate any chain or cord of your choosing. (Not included.)
