One-of-a-kind, Handmade Miniature Forest Cottage Faerie Hutch #2

I started working in miniatures in 2007. I created the first magical supply hutch as a gift for a friend. I wanted something faerie (fairy) sized; something that perhaps might be found in the little forest cottage where she lived. This one is done very much in that forest cottage feel. The hutch is hand painted in a metallic copper and the top door and lower drawers are highlighted in multiple shades of silver and gold done in a sponge painting technique. Then I go to town creating all sorts of unique items to fill the shelves. It's very particular, precise work and it takes many, many hours to complete a single hutch.

This is the second Forest Cottage style hutch.

Close-up detail shows off some of the amazingly intricate items. There are volumes of ancient books on the top shelf along with a copper pot, highly intricate silver bottles, crystal ball and candle on the second shelf, and more detailed bottles on the third. In the cupboard, there are two highly detailed bottles and an astrological chart hanging within.

The bottom drawers of the hutch do not open but are highly decorated in a wonderful sponge paint technique to give them a ton of character and variety in tone and color.

This forest cottage hutch would be perfect for anyone who wants a mystical touch for their dollhouse, or who wants a little fun with their Halloween decoration. It's also a neat conversation piece to have out on display year-round. It measures around 6" in height at it's tallest point, 4" width and about 1.25" in width. The piece is hand signed on the bottom by the artist. (Me!)
